Pretty Plastic launches a new facade tile for high-rise and prefab buildings at the Dutch Design Week

After the successful and critically acclaimed introduction of the first Pretty Plastic tile at the Dutch Design Week in 2017, Pretty Plastic now presents an all-new facade tile. This tile is also designed by architect Peter van Assche and designers Reinder Bakker and Hester van Dijk, the founders of Pretty Plastic. The new tile, called Second High, has been specially developed for prefabricated building processes and is therefore also very suitable for high-rise buildings.

With this new tile, Pretty Plastic is developing a unique product made of recycled PVC that fits in seamlessly with the developments and requirements of circular construction. Combined with a rear wall construction made of recycled aluminum from Lomax Systems, the tile forms a smart and sustainable solution for ventilated façade applications. The design of the tile is such that it can be placed in different positions on façade elements. Together with a varied colour pattern, this produces a versatile and eye-catching effect.

During Dutch Design Week, Pretty Plastic also presents the expansion of the original tile's colour palette. In addition to the successfully launched range of grey tiles in four different shades, it is now adding three new colours to our range: terracotta, green and ochre. These colours are available in three different shades. In combination with the grey tiles, this creates endless possibilities for designing unique colour patterns for façade and roof structures.
